No added sugar - sweetened with Pure Maple Syrup
TBH I get really frustrated when I see a recipe for "high protein xyz" and it considers peanut butter the protein source....🙄
❌ In case you didn't know, peanut butter is actually a fat, not a protein. Yes, there is some protein in PB, but there's more fat. So I wouldn't constitute that a "high protein" source.
So, I made my own! Using the highest quality protein powder I know of: EQUIP Prime Protein (I used unflavored, but you could try another flavor very easily) plus the highest quality yogurt I can find in the states: Siggi's.
These dessert bars come together so quickly, and have never failed to satisfy my sweet tooth, without all the processed sugar and garbage ingredients of the average dessert.

Here's the full recipe:
High Protein Dessert Bars
Ingredients:
2 medium-large bananas, mashed
1 large carrot, grated
1 Cup old-fashioned rolled oats
2 Scoops Equip Prime Protein (I used unflavored)
1/2 Cup unsweetened apple sauce
1 Cup (or 100g) Plain, nonfat yogurt (I use Siggi's)
1 to 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
1 to 1.5 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder
2 Tbsp (or 10 g) pure maple syrup Optional topping:
1/2 Cup plain, nonfat yogurt
1 Tbsp pure maple syrup
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a square baking dish with parchment paper.
Add all the ingredients listed (not the topping) IN ORDER to a medium bowl.
Stir to combine, making sure there are no dry ingredients
Pour the mix into the baking dish, spreading evenly
Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean
Let cool completely before serving. Store refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 7 days. **Optional topping: whip yogurt and maple syrup together in a small bowl. Store separately, and top each bar at the time of serving to avoid sogginess.
